5 Luxurious Rugs Perfect for Any Space

Wall-to-wall carpet may have lost the popularity it once enjoyed, but there is nothing more wonderful to add softness, warmth, and cohesion to a space than an area rug. Rugs are fantastic as defining anchors to a furniture grouping such as a conversation area or under the table and chairs of a dining room. In a bedroom an area rug can visually amplify the importance of the focal point; i.e., the bed, when centrally positioned like a plinth underneath. And a multi-colored rug can be a great source to draw a room’s color palette from! Here are five pieces that will bring comfort and luxury to any space …

Exotic Azure

The color of this piece is a drool-worthy favorite as I am a sucker for watery blues. The lacey cream design is a modern take on traditional patterns found in antique rugs, adding sophistication with a light and fresh hand. Blended wool and viscose give it a shimmering softness anyone would love to snuggle bare toes into! Find yours here.

Crackle Forest

Crackle Forest is a vision of contrasting earth tones in a modern design. Though not in the least jarring, it’s rich browns appear as soft shards, broken by ivory branches - almost stained glass-like on the floor. It is comforting, grounding, and a foundation of calm beneath the feet!

Saville

Hand-tufted of wool, the Saville is a fusion of modern abstract and tribal motifs. Perfect for contemporary spaces, a classic black and ivory color palette gives a bold and striking presentation of boho-chic charm. Make it yours here.

Geometry

I love the geometric pattern of this gorgeous, and texture-rich, rug. Wool and viscose flatweave makes a warm but modern statement in a wonderful play of gray and taupe tonalities. That fancy fringe, though!!! Gorgeous luxury with a contemporary flair. Get it here.

Serengeti

A favorite product to specify in rustic and beach properties is the naturally raw material of jute. When it is worked into floor covering with a lively herringbone pattern, so much the better! The Serengeti plays well from both ends of the spectrum, from earthy and grounding to refined and sophisticated! Find yours here.

Designer Tips

When selecting an area rug for your living room, pick a size that will allow all the furniture pieces to be at least partially on it. For instance, chairs and sofa should at least have the front legs on it. For a dining room, choose a size that will accommodate both the table and chairs when the table is fully extended and chairs are pulled away from it.
